Security with a modern face: Jan Dědek reimagines JABLOTRON design

Family tradition and world-class design converge in JABLOTRON Next. Jan Dědek has ushered in a new era where high-tech aesthetics are defined by modern simplicity. Discover how the NATUS keypad and other innovations are shaping the new visual identity of the secure home.

JABLOTRON is widely recognised as a symbol of technical precision and security. Now, these core values are being joined by an emphasis on cutting-edge contemporary design.

Leading this transformation is Jan Dědek (son of the company’s founder, Dalibor Dědek), who is bringing his extensive experience in international design—including interior design for Škoda Auto—to the family business. His goal is to blend the tradition of a Czech technological icon with an aesthetic that fits naturally into modern homes.

Who is Jan Dědek?

  • He has 18 years of experience in the fields of automotive and product design.
  • He studied Automotive Design at Coventry University in England.

  • Upon returning to the Czech Republic, he joined Škoda Auto as an interior designer, where he has been working for eleven years.
  • He currently holds the position of Head of Design at JABLOTRON.

JABLOTRON Next: design that serves people

This new era of design has been named JABLOTRON Next. It is not merely a cosmetic change to the "boxes on the wall", but a profound transformation of how users interact with technology. As Head of Design, Jan Dědek is championing a path where aesthetics are driven by functionality.

„The motto of the new style is 'Easy to install, easy to use.' That says it all. We subordinate the design to the simplicity of both installation and operation.“

The visual language of JABLOTRON Next is defined by clean shapes, rounded corners (the so-called "soft touch"), and tensioned surfaces. At the same time, it focuses on details that make the products more engaging and practical. This approach transforms a technical device into an elegant interior accessory that is pleasing to both the eye and the touch.

NATUS: the flagship of a new generation

A concrete example of this established philosophy is the NATUS touch keypad. It represents a revolution in how users control their homes. Here, design directly aids intuitiveness; the large display area, clean graphic interface, and system responsiveness are designed to make operating the alarm as natural as using a smartphone.

NATUS removes the barrier between complex technology and the end user. Thanks to the precise execution of details, the keypad no longer feels like a jarring addition, but rather a natural centrepiece of the smart home.

Team synergy behind the scenes

While the vision originates with Jan Dědek, the result is always a collective effort. The new style is born from close collaboration between JABLOTRON’s designers, engineers, graphic artists, and developers.

It is this fusion of technical constraints and aesthetic ambition that allows for the creation of products that are robust on the inside, yet simple and intuitive on the outside..

The beginning of a unified ecosystem

The NATUS keypad may be the flagship, but it is by no means the only representative of this new direction. The JABLOTRON Next design language is already being adopted by other system components, such as the new thermostats and flood detectors.

However, this is only the beginning. The vision of Jan Dědek and his team is the gradual unification of the entire JABLOTRON portfolio.

The objective is to create a perfectly harmonised ecosystem of devices sharing the same aesthetic and functional DNA. As a result, the customer receives more than just top-tier security; they gain a design-consistent whole that sets the standard for modern, safe living for decades to come.
